Thanks to all who have offered to help. I'm tracking down a couple of
very promising suggestions and while I haven't had the chance to
respond to everyone yet, you may still hear from me :)

For those who are interested, we have been stable at about 1200-1500
members for the past decade or so. Message traffic varies between 500
and 1500 messages per month.
