I doubt revving the engine too high hurt your plugs but there is no way you could rev the engine too high.
There is something called a rev limiter and most drivers hit it from time to time with no issues.

Subject: [Miata] Misfiring
The issue of spark plugs seems to be an issue I ask questions about too
much...
I know the Miata eats plugs and wires for lunch. The first time I
replaced the plugs and wires, I did so with the Bosche Platinum plugs
and NGK blue wires. They lasted a year. Replaced them with the same.
Now, 3 months later?!?! Could there be some other issue that has caused
them to fail so quickly? I reved the car too high in November during a
snowstorm in November. I got so frustrated, I accidently forgot to
switch gears as I tried harder and harder to dig myself an even deeper
hole. Could that have reduced their life? I do realize the error of my
ways; I know I went about getting unstuck in completely the wrong way.
I'm driving a 93 LE.
