[Miata] Body repairs: windshield removal

Someone, presumably in a large (and white) SUV, backed into my Miata's rear while I was in a Best Buy. I'm bringing it to a
shop on Monday (did the adjuster thing, got the check, yadda, yadda). I'm also having them do some fix ups on a separate bill.
One thing I'm not having them do is fix up my a-pillars as the guy said it would take windshield removal to really grind the
rust out (and be good amount of time to pay for). I may just go back to them for the work later this year, but this spring/summer
I'd like to at least think about doing the pillars myself myself.
So, how does one remove the windshield and is there a good source for a new rubber molding / surround (whatever). My old
surround is okay and I might be able to reuse it but I'd rather get a new one since I'll have the thing apart anyway. Given how low
the rust line goes I'll likely have to pull the front quarter panels as well as the hood to really get in there.
Thanks!
