[Miata] Fwd: Returned Mail Confirmation Required

I'm reminded of comedian George Carlin's profane version of the Lord's
Prayer, in which he implores, "Lord, give us all larger sex organs!"

And on a personal email level, how about this radical idea:

If EVERYONE refuses to buy anything, I mean ANYTHING AT ALL from a spam
message - there would be no reason whatsoever for sending the crap out in
the first place...

Quite frankly (and pardon the pun) I am truly amazed at the amount of people
I don't even know who are worried about the size of my "Johnson" or my
breasts...

I ain't buyin' it.

Actually I would very much dispute their "100% effective" claim. In my
professional opinion, stopping all the spam is only half the battle - if a
spam "solution" causes even one legitimate email to be lost, either through
being incorrectly flagged as spam or because your correspondent couldn't be
bothered to respond to a challenge response, then its effectiveness is far
below 100%.

Perhaps for home use it can be argued that people who don't or won't respond
to a challenge probably don't have anything important to impart to you, but
in the business world the sin of blocking an legitimate email far outweighs
that of allowing through the occasional spam, which probably explains why
challenge-response "solutions" are almost universally spurned by businesses.

Again, a truly useful tool would allow filtering on several (if not all) key
email headers. Everything from the Miata list, for example, includes
Return-Path: <miata-bounces at realbig.com> as the first header of every
message.

Cheers,
