[Miata] 195/60s vs 195/50s

No I meant 195/55/14

He mentioned using 195/60/14 and the normal size ratio for that tire is 195/55/14 not 60.

  You mean 185-60-14, right?  195-55-14 is the same diameter as stock, just wider.
