The risk of a fire is low during DEs, but bad things can happen and burns are a nasty thing to recover from. A good lightweight suit is typically expensive, but I usually don't feel guilty when I spend $$ on safety equipment.
On a hot humid day at the track a racing suit can make you quite hot. Drink plenty of water and couple of sport drinks during the day. A light colored suit will reduce the amount of sun heat you absorb. If you have long waits between your stints take the suit off. Nomex is resistant to most chemicals but will degrade in sunlight, so try to keep it out of the sun when possible.
Best of luck,
Chris A.

I plan to do several track days this year so I am thinking I should get a
racing suit. I know I am not really racing but I hate the idea of a fire
ruining my life.
Am I right to think I should get a three layer suit?
Should I get a one piece or a two piece suit?
Any opinions on Sparco, GForce, Simpson, OMP etc?
Any other suggestions?
As always, thanks!
Luis
