I've had just the opposite experience. I got a ticket in my 10AE the very first day I drove it to work, from a cop who pulled me out of the stream of traffic.
Then last year I noticed a cop pull out several cars behind me as I drove through a small country town near here, and I kept an eye on him as he manouevered to a position a couple of cars back in the traffic. He followed me all the way through town, fully expecting, I'm sure, that I would accelerate back up to 65 before the actual signs.
Of course I did not oblige him by speeding away from Smallville, so he pulled me over anyway, about a half-mile past the 65 signs, and gave me a BS story about wanting to check my tires which he had "observed to be marginal." The tires were practically brand new, so no ticket there, but he was determined he was going to pin *something* on me, and eventually slapped me with an $85 ticket for no front plate. I guess small town cops don't take kindly to little yellow sports cars obeying the law on their beat.
