[Miata] Windshield Getting Replaced -- Any Tips or Gotchas

Depends on your state and your plan.  In S.C. the glass coverage is state 
mandated no deductible.

Also I would prefer changing the windshield somewhere warm not out in the 
cold.  What's the temp by you now??
