I will definitely update everybody with the results.

One more question - can I use stock Mazda springs with the Porterfield R4S
pads?  The ones I bought from Flyin Miata didn't include springs.

In other not so good news, it looks like the stainless steel hoses I ordered
from BSI Racing never arrived.  That means I will just do the pads and
tranny/diff fluids this weekend.  I'll probably save the brake/clutch fluid
for whenever I track down those hoses :(  On the plus side, I'll be able to
gauge the impact of each of these upgrades individually.
