[Miata] [NMC] Odd tire searching experience today - somewhat NMC

I couldn't help but comment on an experience I had here in Northern 
Wisconsin. The salesman (kid) at Tires Plus (in Duluth, MN) was almost 
ready to punch me and/or throw me out of the store because I didn't 
believe him when he said there is no such thing as "summer" tires -- 
there's just "regular" tires and snow tires.

He went on to explain that the only thing that makes tires hard to 
handle in snow is when they're too wide, and used the aspect ratio to 
illustrate the width of the tire: "The reason your Miata doesn't handle 
well in snow is because you have "50s" on there. It has nothing to do 
with the rubber the tire is made of."

He then told me the conversation was over and asked if I wanted to buy 
the Firestones he showed me or not.

Scary stupid.
