[Miata] Regular vs Premium after 2001

Any ECU that takes 300 miles to adjust to a different grade fuel is surely
defective. I would think that 0.5 seconds of knock would be more than
sufficient to change parameters.

In any event, John Freas, if you set the cruise control on 65 MPH on a flat
section of interstate and see what fuel consumption is (shouldn't take more
than a mile or two to see) and then do the same a tank later (assuming a
"flushed" tank) with a different grade of fuel you should be able to come up
with some interesting numbers. This wouldn't account for city driving but I
don't see any way to ever be able to test for that. Just too many variables
unless you build a road course to test this on. Even with your own course it
would be pretty hard to duplicate driving exactly. I guess we need to email
Mythbusters on this (they would probably have a hard time with it too).
