I'd also check the basics.  The hum means the pump is working, but it doesn't mean the filter isn't clogged.  Especially after sitting, sediment can do some funny things to a filter.  Or the sediment gets stirred up after running a few minutes, and stops flow enough to starve the pump and injectors.
 
If you haven't changed the filter already, I'd start there, as it 's a good baseline piece of maintenance for a car you just purchased.
