[Miata] Storing a Car

Most storage places will give you a month free if you pay a year at a time. But will refund your money without the "free" month for unused months if you ask to cancel. Check into this and see if you can pay for a year in advance and get a refund if you don't need it all.

I'd be more likely to try that if I could somehow pay electronically. I don't know enough people in the area to trust them.

The only problem with paying in advance is I don't know how long I'll be away. I suppose I could pay for a few months at a time or something.

I'd go for a storage place. As far as worrying about the payment, leave your checkbook with a trusted friend and have them mail the checks each month for you. That's what I'd do. Or I suppose you could just give them a term's worth of payments all at once. I have my other car in storage year round except when I take it out to go to the track. No problems.
