Don't buy a rebuilt/reman alternator without a lifetime warranty. I
bought one from Advance Auto years ago with a lifetime warranty. I've
replaced it something like 6 times since then (I've lost count)-- the
rebuilt ones just tend to be crap. They fix the one thing that's wrong
with it, dip it in some paint, and stick it in a box. If I had it to do
over again, I think I would seriously consider a brand new one so I
didn't have to worry about dealing with the returns on the lifetime
warranty. That said, they've given me a new one with the warranty every
time, no questions asked.
