Buy a rebuilt alternator from your local auto parts store.  New ones are very expensive.

  Hello All:
       THis past Friday my alternator went out or at least I think it is the alternator.  The battery charge indicator light came on and I had to "Jump" start my 1990 Miata five times just to get it back home and in the garage.  Where is the best place to get a alternator?  New or Rebuilt?  How much can I expect to pay?  Thanks, for your prompt response.
