Hey John, welcome back. Things are funny, we were at the Gap last week and I was just thinking about Miata people from years gone past that we don't see or hear from and your name popped into my head. And now here you are!!

Greetings List, it's been a long time and I imagine there are a bunch of new faces around.

Here's the deal; my faithful steed #7690 is ready for a new home. I'm in search of a replacement but I am hoping to find the right taker for a Miata in need of some new life. In it's present condition it would make a great:

    1.. Spec Racer Candidate
2.. Fixer-upper for someone who loves to work on cars... or
    3.. Parts car
  Here are the details:

#7690 is a Red 1990 Miata Base Model with airconditioning (the only factory option it has), currently with 178,000 miles on the clock. I am the second owner. The car was partially repainted before I bought it, and it wasn't done well. What originally looked great is now peeling clearcoat where painted, and oxidation where not. It's not pretty.

The top is a Robbins Cloth top with glass window - added by me ~1997, and it will need to be replaced soon.
The crankshaft was damaged when I bought it (I wasn't aware at the time) and was replaced by Mazda under an aftermarket warranty I bought with the car. The clutch and virtually all engine seals were replaced at the same time, this was around January 1997 at ~95,000 miles.
Shocks are Tokico's but they aren't Illuminas (not adjustable), don't remember the model, added around 1997. They work.
Aftermarket radio w/CD (Base models had no factory radio).
OEM alloy wheels added by me, they are now discolored and a bit sad looking.
Windshield has a star in it, but has not cracked further in 10 years. It is somewhat pitted.
The airconditioning compressor failed around 1999 and was replaced and the system converted to R134a, it still works great.

Car comes with complementary souvenir stickers from Deals Gap (priceless yellow-diamond from Crossroads of Time), also Souvenir from Miatæ at Laguna Seca events 1 and 2, and Miatæ at Sears Point 1. Note that with the exception of Deals Gap, only the driver, not the car, participated.

Given the age and condition this is a "make me an offer" situation. Please feel free to email. The car is in central Indiana, south of Indianapolis and is still my daily driver.

      -John
