You might consider lodging a complaint with whoever is responsible for those
things.  If one of them dented my car I'd be kinda pissed.  Maybe they
aren't intended to be driven over, but if they are place such that they
sometimes are, that's a hazard to your property.

Even if they don't do anything for you, enough complaints might have the
design altered or something.
