[Miata] Koni yellows install - funky noise

I just installed Koni Yellows on a 92 Smurf.

After installing, I get a clunk/pop sound after going around turns or really rough road.

The center nuts were tightened with an impact wrench.

It sounds as though the springs are shifting around in the spring cups.

I did notice that the spring cups are much larger than the diameter of the spring. This means that the spring *could* shift in there.

Is this normal? Will they settle down?
