Got my clutch back in. 2 evenings, 11+ hrs, 1 helper, Keith's book, a bunch
of print-outs from miata.net and parts from FM. What a great community!
This is my first ever clutch and not sure I would have tackled it had it not
been for the wealth of info out there.

1. Change it when it starts making noise, not weeks later. I figured it was
my release bearing for when and how it was making noise. Turned out it was
my pilot. Opened the bearing up, 3 ball bearings were 'missing' - ground to
dust and the cage all mangled. Needless to say it had scored the trans
input shaft a bit. Not cool.

2. New clutch pedal feel is very light. Less than 1/2 the weight of the old
one. Weird. I keep slamming the pedal to the floor. (Factory clutch -
'96, replaced with 'stock' clutch from FM)

3. When putting it back in, I used every 3/8" extension in the shop. Had a
flex head ratchet, almost 3' of extension, universal then socket. Made
spinning the bolts back in really easy.

4. Contrary to the info, two of my trans/engine bolts were 12mm. Not
14mm's. On of the 12mm's had a 14mm nut. ...What ever.
