I presume you're running in a PAXed class then, because the Mini and Miata aren't in the same Stock class.  It's true, the Mini has a ridiculously soft PAX in GS; I routinely win our PAXed street tire class, except when a particular Mini turns up - I can beat it by 0.5s on raw time yet get beaten by 0.5 after the PAX is applied.

That said, I understand that the latest edition of Sportscar mentions a proposal to move the new Mini S to DS next year, and calls for member input.  Speak now or forever hold your peace. :)
