Why not clean them and then cover them with the headlight protector film from a place like Team Miata?

  I did not see what your question was but if it was what to do about yellowing healights tohelp them you can use tooth paste. To get them clear and shinney you need to buff them with one of the available kits or replace them. Buffing or using tooth paste takes the herd coating off the surface so you will have to work harder to keep them from getting cloudy. After buffing mine I wax and hand buff monthly.
