[DeTomaso] Zinc question

Dear All,

After reading all the posts about the zinc problem in modern oils, I ordered a couple of pints of GM EOS lubricant to add to my oil (one pint per oil change, I figured) to get the correct zinc levels in my oil for my flat tappets.

I received the lubricant today and was dismayed to see on the bottles "GM does not recommend the use or any product as an additive to engine oil."

Now what?  Can I add this stuff to my oil as planned, or will my car fall victim to some sort of GM curse???
