The really funny thing is that in 74, there really wasn't anything even close 
to it. For $11,400 you had a dependable car that beat the regular and more 
expensive Ferraris of the time and, except for top end, kept up with the much 
more expensive Daytona and BB. Same is true of the 2x more expensive Bora. The 
Porsche 911 Carrera had about 170 hp amd 6.5 secs to 60. The XKE was much 
slower and don't even mention the Corvette. What else were you going to buy?
