Right-on AJ. You will not find a safer place to let-er-rip than an ORR.
WE NEED YOU (and Greg) at the next ORR! (like you haven't heard that
before)......

I'll be the first to step-up and help whoever needs it to get their car
to Ely this year.

All,

Spirited fun not withstanding, please remember what Greg did was not
legal, and could have put other lives in jeopardy. This is not what we
refer to as Open Road Racing, or ORR which is what many here on this
list have participated in and have had a lot of fun, legally.

I have met Greg and he's a really nice guy and he's a great car guy too.

Greg has been working on his Pantera for racing, and this event with
the Shelby, though fun for him, is not a good example of how to race
your car. Even though we like to live vicariously through the exploits
of folks like Greg and others, let me remind you that Greg could just
have easily ended up in jail, and being a work related trip, could have
put his job at risk as well.

Open Road Racing, consists of several sanctioned events throughout the
united States and Mexico. Open Road Racing, or ORR consists of a
closed, controlled course. In the case of the Silver State Classic
Challenge, highway 318 in Nevada is closed to public traffic for an
entire day, while registered participants put the pedal to the metal and

have a grand time.

It's these controlled, sanctioned events that folks like Mad Dog, and JB

have been pushing folks to get involved in. Visit the Team Pantera
Racing (TPR) website for more info:
http://www.teampanteraracing.com

To get an idea of what happens at these events, please visit the photo
gallery here:

The last ORR that Team Pantera Racing participated in was the September
2006 Silver State Classic Challenge:

In other words, ORR is the LEGAL way to get your blood running, drive at

speeds over 150 mph (if you have the guts), get the recognition, and if
your lucky, get to play with the Brazilian girls.

What Greg did was NOT legal, was NOT sanctioned, and is NOT Recommended.

If you want to go fast, get involved with TPR, there are plenty of
mentors to help you get there.
