are very new--and then they are still a good idea anyway. :>)
If you are going to have a hose or heater core let go, the track is the best
place for it to happen. On a road course track you would have a double
layer Nomex suit, fireproof boots, fireproof double-layer gloves, fire
retardant underwear and socks, Nomex-lined helmet with full face cover, neck
brace, and a cool suit, so there is no exposed skin. You have a 5+ point
harness with padded roll cage and fire suppression to protect you in a
crash. There is plenty of run-off with few fixed obstacles most of which
are lined by tires.
As a matter of fact, you would be better off if you get up right now and go
sit in your Pantera.
