I welded a 1 inch aluminum plate for my brother with the Lincoln 175 
Tig. Took a minute to flow the heat into it. I beveled the edges on both 
sides. The weld was milled down. The plate is a motor mount was put back 
into use last year on a machine and still doing just fine after running 
over 100,000 fett of metal.
