Lots of other people have had less-catastrophic failures; if the hose splits 
at lower rpm, it will just dribble hot water on your foot and perhaps burn 
you.   Still nothing you want to fool around with.

Bottom line--if you EVER use your heater, and if you don't know for a FACT 
when your hoses were changed, you need to change them!
