Found here are details, photos, of past routes taken:

http://geocities.com/pantera_events/Road2Vegas2003.html

http://geocities.com/pantera_trax/Depart2Vegas

Gathering these links for you by visiting them myself,
MS reported several of my website pages as possible phishing sites.

I guess MS does not like Yahoo, the controller of geocities.
I have no control over what geocities does, and the sites have been safe for
the
past 8-10 years they have been available.
So I have naturally reported my site to MS as being "OK".

They seem to want me to list EVERY page in my (10+) websites.... that ain't
going to happen.
(1,000 pages ???)

My new website has not been so tarnished by MS, (yet ???)

<< This year, if everything falls into place, I'm thinking about
joining you PCNC folks on your drive to Vegas. I'm in Southern California
and I
love the drive up Highway 395. I've heard that you have spent the night in
Bishop and then driven thru Death Valley on your way to the convention. If
someone could give me highway numbers for the roads you usually take, and
where you
normally pick up 395, I would appreciate it. >>

>>>I am a staunch advocate of the 'scenic route' to Vegas, but often weather
prevails and we are forced to drone down the interstate.

Our pleasant route takes us over the mountains to Bishop where we spend the
night. The following day, we then take one of two routes to Las Vegas.

We have driven south to Lone Pine, then got onto Hwy 136, to 190, through
Death Valley, the south on 127 and east on 178, which conveniently ends at
Pahrump. This route is fantastic.

The second alternative is to go just a bit south out of Bishop, then at the
town of Big Pine, turn onto Hwy 168, which then turns into 266 and winds up
at
Nevada Hwy 95. This is the best road in the world, as it offers everything
from miles-long Silver State straights, to tight first-gear canyon crawling,
and
everything in between. Bring food, water and survival gear on this road,
because in the past we have made the whole drive without seeing a single
opposing
car!

We don't know which way we'll be going yet, but we'll keep the forum posted.
