dipstick that was too long. So it read 'full' when the motor, wasn't.
Ford's TSB called for a fixed length of 38 inches, and all early dipsticks
that were modified were painted with a yellow handle, and new ones made after
that date were made with yellow handles, so you could instantly tell them apart.
In that case, then you should run it with the proper indications.
