pins and light dimming  resistor.
 
The switch contact which controls the lamp is not opening when the  Hazard 
Switch is OFF. The switches are repairable and new ones are  available but the 
switch is a major pain to remove and replace. If you  push the switch in 
manually as far as possible, the lamp should go out. A small  piece of cardboard 
wedged between the button and bezel will hold the switch  fully OFF. Tacky? Yes. 
Works? Yes.
