[DeTomaso] Adhesives question

I bought the 5 piece front lid [Hood] Dress Up set
from a vendor.  Construction has a "Carpet" face with
a foam backer bound nicely on all 4 sides.  I used 3M
Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive.  Probably a month
later all 5 pads detached and fell to the front floor.
 Which adhesive  will work well in this situation?
