There's also that Claiming Race clause:
   
  Claiming Race: At the end of the competition, organizer may elect to purchase any 
  vehicle from its owner(s) for $500. In other words, don't spend a lot on a cheater—
  cause if you do, you ain't gonna own it much longer.
   
  Basically, the organizer has legal right to buy your car for $500 if he chooses. Clearly 
  it's a deterrant to cheater vehicles, but not a clause I would accept even with a beater. This is an event for someone who plans to walk away from their vehicle.
