The oil industry is trying to push out the idea of ethanol fuels by dropping
the prices of oil until they are no longer a threat, then raise the prices
again. Many Americans are making their own ethanol now, and it is fairly
easy to convert a car to run on it. Some states even give tax breaks to
those who do, as well as buy or convert vehicles to run on gas and or
ethanol. To let you guys in on a secret, my grandparents used ethanol back
in their youth. Back then it was called MOONSHINE. And yes, they were ridge
runners or trafficers. Now, all you have to do is apply for a license to
brew it and aply poison to it so no one can drink it, and it becomes legal.
Truth be known you can brew it for as little as 70 cents per gallon.
Mississippi will pay a Mississippi resident 20 cents per gallon up to 3
million dollars per year until 2016. Not all states have laws in place at
this time for it but they are motioning for them. For those of you that
race, here is a news flash for you, You pay how much for Aviation or race
gas? And for what octane? E85 is 105 octane straight from the pump. All the
octane boosters that are sold in stores are ethanol. For engines that have
to run race gas to avoid detonation, the conversion to Ethanol will
generally yield a 5%-8% increase in power. Remember, gas prices always drop
around labor day then just before summer they go up again.
