[DeTomaso] ANOTHER ZF bolt that backs out to cause trouble

Larry. how about asking the real expert- Lloyd Butfoy, how he ensures that
bolt (or others) do not come out?
Or even Ted Mitchell, who makes that cool stand-off system so inboard rear
brake rotors of a suitable diameter can be used?

FWIW, one friend tried Lock-titing one of his ZF parts, and a little of the
squeezed-out Lock-tite ran down into the cases and locked 5th gear synchro to
the shaft! He had to disassemble the whole gearbox to get in far enough to
break the synchro loose, and even diagnosing what had happened wasn't simple. As
you said, indiscriminate use of Lock-tite can lead directly to trouble. Good
luck-- J DeRyke
