Unless he had some crazy wild suspension that made it hook up like a funny car, I'd guess the 900 HP would go up in smoke in most the gears, maybe more smoke than a 500 HP car, but still smoke.  I think the big HP would mainly make a difference in 4th and 5th when the torque at the rear wheels was cut down by the gearing.
