Good points Mike and I'd like to add that mine was so difficult to remove
and reinstall that I put dome grease on the spring clips and now it comes
off and goes on with what I consider to be less than windshield cracking
force.

How do you remove the rear view mirror mounted to the top of windshield
frame/roof in the Pantera? I'v

what direction.
And, I'm reluctant to just begin yanking.
>>>Yes, it just pops off. It is held in place with two pieces of
spring steel that let it 'snap' into position.
If you are timid (and who wouldn't be?), you can press on it until a
small gap opens between the mirror mount and the base (which bolts to
the windshield header), and then slip a small screwdriver in there and
pry them apart. It will just pop out in your hand, always surprising
you when it does.
Installation requires a few sharp whacks with the heel of your palm,
not on the mirror portion but rather on the mirror mount. It will be
quite obvious once the thing is in your hands....
