  Opening paragraph:
"If you've ever wondered why Chevrolet has never built a production
mid-engine Corvette, you don't have to look much further than the De Tomaso
Panter to under stand why. Think about every error in design, engineering,
and marketing associated with the mid-engine sports car, the the Panter is
its poster child."

Admittedly: my car has had the benifit of 30 years of developement; I've
never driven an F1 or Can Am car; according to some, I don't know my hole
from an ass in the ground. BUTT - my Pantera is the best car I've ever
driven.
If you are wondering: tons of BMWs and Porshays (raceprepped speedsters
through turbo thingies, M-Bs, GT 350s, 427 Cobras (real ones), dancin'
donkeys blah blah blah.

For the record: My Pantera made "the world's most challenging Open Road
Event" just another boring drive on the highway.

Ooopps. I just fell off the soapbox . . . maybe I'll read the whole
article, but the first few words made me grumpy.

old and grouchier, in Durango
