[DeTomaso] Anyone interested is having some sheet metal "tunnel
ram" type intake manifolds made for high port heads?

Dan,
I'd be a little concerned about the very short runner length, but might never feel it? How small are the runners in Kelly's casting? I think my ports are only about 1 3/4 tall and almost square.
I have an SVO single plane manifold that matches my heads, and could cut it up, probably a lot cheaper than using one of Kelly's manifolds. That's similar to what Blaine is using, but I'd like to cut the manifold lower then Blaine did and add runner to it with some nice radii where the runners enter the plenum.
It just seems like when I look at an alternative to a sheet metal intake, it ends up requiring so much work that it's better to just have a custom manifold made.

Ken,
What about a simple aluminum box mounted on top of Kelly's lower
intake manifold. The box would need 8 round holes on
the bottom to mate with the lower and a big round hole on the
end to mount the single throttle body. You could flange the box
on the bottom or make a removable top to allow access to bolt it
together. Kelly and I have discussed casting up something like this
but it would be very easy to fabricate.
