[DeTomaso] Anyone interested is having some sheet metal "tunnel ram" type intake manifolds made for high port heads?

Most the Hilborn manifolds have too big a bore size, and I'm not sure they even make a manifold for late (about post 96??) Yates heads. The later heads have more efficient (better flow with smaller cross-section) closer to square ports than earlier C3 heads. Having a smaller port that flow more seems like a really good thing.

Wish there was an easy way The custom sheet metal manifold still looks like the shortest path. I would welcome a cheaper solution that doesn't take 1000 hours to put together. And as I mentioned before, I still need to connect to the turbos, so just using a manifold with 8 throttle bodies doesn't save much of anything, I still have to connect them to the turbos.

I assume Mike Trusty has addressed, or will address, connecting the throttle bodies to turbos, but I suspect that the EFI manifold, throttle bodies, and plumbing to connect the throttle bodies to the turbos, is not trivial. The tunnel ram type manifold with one throttle body on each side should be easier, and I suspect any loss in throttle response won't be measurable by the seat of the pants. Apart from professional racing, I haven't seen too many (any?) turbo charged applications with a throttle body for each cylinder, although I suspect they are optimal and are out there.

It still looks like you could modify a Hilborn for less than some of
the multipiece Weber-type throttle body arrangements, and it would be a
lot lower profile, too.
