[DeTomaso] 134a Refrigerant/Cheap

Dave,

I switched out everything, added a larger condenser, tried three different
"hi-po" fans.  I could get 34 deg. air in the shop.  As soon as I hit the
highway the a/c hose would blow off from too much head pressure.  I then
added a hi-pressure switch to stop this.  Then all I could get was cycle on,
cycle off, cycle, on, cycle off.  I finally gave up and went back to R-12
which works great with all my new R-134a components.

Just my expensive experience.

BTW I tried using the blends too and they didn't work any better.

134 works fine in a Pantera.  All you need is a new condensor and biger
fan.  Done it in a couple cars.
