[DeTomaso] Best of France and Italy Show

For those of you who are in Southern California and are not participating in the Willow Springs Weekend of Nov 4th and 5th., there is an alternate type of event available.  It is called "The Best of France and Italy" show and is at Woodley Park in Van Nuys on Sunday, November 5th.  Last year amongst a sea of some 300 Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Fiats, Alfa Romeos, Peugeots, Renaults, Citroens, Delehaye, and other various Franco-Italiano marques there were a mere two DeTomasos, the Panteras of Greg Rich and mine.
   
  The show is a non-judged gathering as well as swap meet with vendors also selling memorabilia, accessories, food, etc.  Since we were only two, we were placed with the "Other Italian Marques".  We were parked across from four Iso Rivoltas (how many of you know what these are?) and next to two Ghias, as well as an Iso Grifo.  Nearby were four Lamborghini Miuras and a gaggle of Maseratis, and just south of them was a sea of red Ferraris.  The variety of cars makes for an interesting day, from 600cc Fiats to huge Delehayes.  One guy showed up in, or perhaps more appropriately on,a beastly thing called a Bestione from the twenties.   This year I asked the event coordinators if they would designate an area for DeTomaso and they replied "Sure! But you'll need to provide a couple of people to arrange the cars".  It would be great to produce a strong showing of our beloved machines.  Foothill Panteras will be providing food and beverages for participating DeTomaso folks, so if you plan to attend let me know so we can make ample provisions.
