Hell no! I bought my avy a couple years ago. It is the first truck I've
ever owned and I have to say I'm amazed at how quickly I got in to the
whole truck/av scene. There are some terrific websites devoted to the
truck that can provide most excellent information on just about anything
you'd care to know. One of the best is

I signed on to that forum before I even bought the truck and learned a
lot about the truck I was bidding on with ebay before I made my final
decision. My truck is an '02 2500 series (3/4 ton) with the 8.1
litre/496 engine. It has 4.10 gears which is great for towing but sucks
for mileage. It comes with a 37 gallon tank and believe me, you need all
of it. 
The convertible nature of the truck is what makes it so cool. I can haul
full sheets of plywood, keep items secured in the bed and out of the
weather, or take a freakin' family on a road trip. The back seat is
massive. 
Chevy could make huge strides if they'd offer it with a diesel engine
but at this time I am not aware of that consideration. 
I've also camped in the vehicle, using the accessory tent that turns the
bed into a  master bedroom....very awesome indeed!
If it sounds like I love my truck, it's because I do. I heartily
recommend it to anyone wanting a truck that has multiple capabilities,
you won't be disappointed.
