[DeTomaso] Oil Leak??

The crankcase evac kit tied to the headers does not work unless you're
pushing lots of RPM.
I tried it on my car because I was curious how well it works. It spit oil
all over the place. I had oil on my valve covers, intake manifold, and all
over the ZF. Everyone said it wouldn't work, but I had to see for myself.
I hooked up a vacuum gauge to the headers, and it only pulled about 1/2".
The intake manifold vacuum was something like 16". I taped the gauge to my
window to see how it varied as I drove around. It never got over 1/2". I
never got over 4,000 RPM's, though, at least not while I was watching the
gauge.
One of my leaks turned out to be my dipstick tube. It was cracked right
where it enters the block. It blew oil mist into my alternator and shorted
it out. Lucky me.
Try switching to a normal PCV and see if the oil mist goes away. You still
have a leak somewhere, but you're making it worse with the header evac kit.
Oh yeah, mine didn't leak at idle either.

I have my breathers tied into the exhaust. There shouldn't be any pressure.
Another note.It doesn't leak at rest.
This started after I washed the engine bay a couple of times.
I'm positive it was leaking motor oil because I had to put 3/4 of a liter
in.
