Do it the old fashion way. Don't pump the gas until you have turned-over
the engine and seen oil pressure.
Then pump the gas, which sets your choke, and proceed.
Unless you have no choke...

Cold starts after the car has sat for a long time is brutal for the engine.
Has anyone installed an oil pressure safety switch ( ~10lb setting) in
series with the ignition circuit or fuel pump in order to ensure oil
pressure before it fires?
