However you spell it the system is broken. Both Republicans and Democrats...Laws on the books are not enforced....where is Teddy Roosevelt and an alternative party for the people when we need him? And lets be real honest about this,
12 MILLION or more illegal aliens will get TOTAL amnesty...they will not have to learn English...They will not have to take any tests or loyalty oaths....as you said Matt, they don't want U.S. citizenship...they just want the money that comes from the jobs. In the meantime the overwelming majority send BILLIONS of DOLLARS back to Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
I don't know about the military service idea Ken....its like ORR....its not for everyone ;-]but I think EVERYONE in this country should have some form of government service...my grandfather legally came to this country in 1911. He came to this country not speaking a word of English...he learned. He also earned his U.S. citizenship serving America by serving with the U.S. Army in WWI...he was also wounded. My grandfather was really proud of that and I know many vets of Hispanic backgrounds I served with in Nam were also proud to serve but they all had to be able to learn and speak English.

Did you forget the repealing of the 19th Amendment?
