[DeTomaso] NPC: An Apology (and am I the only one here who can spell it?)

Hi All:

Someone close to me employs four illegal immigrants in her horse training business.  Two are from Canada and two are from Mexico and there are sharp differences between the two.  

The Canadians are both skilled horsewomen and badly want American citizenship, and to own homes and have careers here.  One was literally weeks away from qualifying for permanant residency but a poorly-timed job change has her back to zero.  This week she's returning to Canada to get a new green card and to start the long, expensive, immigration process all over again.

The two illegal Mexicans are poorly educated but skilled horse handlers and grooms and both have wives and US-born children.  Provided they're able to stay and work in this country both are happy to avoid citizenship; having such is important only as a way to increase the amount of the money they can save toward their family's eventual return to a life of comfort back in Mexico.  

The Canadians want to be Americans; the Mexicans want no such thing.
