Joe,

An alternative to a complete DIY rewire would be to use one of the 
generic kits. Paul Rimov (parimov at charter.net) used a Ron Francis and 
also the "Rick Mosley relay kit" (probably not available anymore but 
functionally easy to duplicate) and was very happy with the results.
