[DeTomaso] #9321 is back on the road, vibration issue?

Hey Jack, it wasn't Jørn twisting the distributor, I think. It was I
"stealing" Jørns subject, and I was only twisting the distributor to set
the base timing after assembly. I figured I had come up with a simple
way of setting the timing roughly, without having to fire the engine up.

I also believe that my distributor gear probably doesn't need any pins
at all. My special Ford (Textool) distributor gear tool wasn't stout
enough to install the gear, and when I went to machine shop to get help,
the guy looked really nervous when we set the dist up in their 100 ton
press and it seemed like it would crush the distributor shaft before the
gear would move. We miked the gear, and the shaft, and all was OK, and
the gear ID was identical to the old cast iron gear I had easily pulled
off. Apparently the Crane steel gear is really tough and doesn't deform
easily. After several attempts we decided we were chickens, and then
turned up the pressure in the press, and then it finally slid into position.

The oil cooler stuff was Jørns issues though.

Cheers,
Thomas
