Mark,
The other thing to consider is perhaps the best way to help our club members become better drivers is to present them with challenges such as this.
A few years ago I had a REAL close call on a two lane highway when another Pantera suddenly swerved into my right fender / wheel.
I could have died or been seriously injured had I not been able to correct the resulting spin and stay out of the trees due in large part to the reflexes / experience learned from controlling several slides at Willow Springs the previous weekend.
Of course we don't want guys going off-roading in Pahrumph but there is something to be said for improving our members driving skills and learning the limits of our cars in a RELATIVELY safe environment.

Our concern with the full track was the speed on that long back straight.
There is the sweeper around 6R-7R, so people would begin the straight at
some pretty good speed then pick up a lot more e.g. >150 mph before reaching
the end which is a 90+ degree hard turn. The A group guys (and Paige) could
handle it, but the less experienced drivers could end up pretty deep in the
weeds at some serious speed.

We could put up a chicane or two to keep it under control. We could route
traffic through the 8R-12R loop though that may make it too much of a go
kart tract.
