[DeTomaso] Appreciation for the DeTomaso Community

  I need to catch up on some "thank you" messages to people in the DeTomaso community.  After all these years, it continues to amaze me how selfless and fantastic the individuals are that popular our hobby. 
   
  As I posted last week, 'Goose owner and good friend Johnny Thomas was killed in a car accident last Saturday.  Terry Box actually printed a huge obit for Johnny in his column for The Dallas Morning News on Friday (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/classifieds/news/automotive/latestnews/stories/DN-BCThomas_09bus.ART.State.Edition1.22bf141d.html).  To my knowledge, this is unprecendented and shows how much Johnny will be missed.  
   
  Chuck Engles noted Johnny's photo on the back cover of Profiles and offered to make a copy to send me.  Mike Drew overnighted a copy to talk to the funeral (and would not accept a check for the costs) and Asa Jay contacted me to get copies to me.  The sentiment and friendship reflected in these offers was very appreciated.
   
  Also, Mike Frazier of San Antonio tried to help me secure some cars for a display of Shelbys in San Antonio this Tues.  His time and effort are also much appreciated.
   
  Like most of you, I belong to many car clubs.  This group tops them all.
